BIOGRAPHY
The actor Victor Rivas Rivers was born on October 1, 1955 in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. He is the author of several bestsellers and a renowned advocate for violence prevention. He was the first Cuban soccer player to sign with the Miami Dolphins. At age 12 he went to the local police department to report a series of crimes committed against him, his mother, his siblings, and his pets. Although the officers were horrified, they could do nothing as this was, they said, “a private family matter.” At the age of 15, his father kidnapped him, along with his other siblings, and took them to live with him in another state. Victor fled, had to live on the streets for some time and took legal action against his father. With the help of his high school, he lived with different families and went from being a rage-filled gang member to president of his class. He earned a football scholarship to Florida State University and played one season in the NFL. Later he decided to change sports for acting and in 1984 he debuted in the film City of Crime, from then on he participated in others such as The Mask of Zorro (1998), Four Lives (2007) and Hulk (2003). Among his most recent projects are Criminal Minds: Without Borders (2016) and Slipping Into Darkness (2018).
