Police trying to figure out from where nearly $40K in cash found in Ohio restrooms came

A money mystery in Marysville has police trying to figure out from where nearly $40,000 came.

More than $25,000 was found in the restroom at the Avalon Theatre on April 27, and then, Thursday night, more than $12,000 was found in the restroom at a KFC restaurant.

Investigators said they're pretty sure the discoveries are related, but still don't know how.

"We're trying to figure out whose money it is, and what possible connection it could be ... to anything that we could see in the city," Marysville Police Capt. Nate Sachs said.

The bills found were in multiple denominations like $5 bills, $10 bills, and even $100 bills. Police are urging anyone who might find other cash dumps to contact them.

Sachs also said he expects BCI and the Secret Service to join the investigation.
