PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Philipsburg-Osceola’s football season has come to a premature end, the school’s athletic director confirmed Monday.
Athletic Director Bob Mann told 6 News that the team has suffered too many injuries for it to continue; it's down to 21 players after starting with 38.
Mann said eight of the 21 players able to play are freshman who haven’t ever played varsity.
The Mountaineers (1-7) were scheduled to play Clearfield on Friday followed by Penns Valley on Oct. 25.
Penns Valley officials say they are looking for another opponent to play against for the school's senior night.
