Altoona man sentenced to jail time, probation in assault case

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Blair County say an Altoona has been sentenced to jail time and probation after pleading guilty to physically and sexually assaulting a woman last year.

Aaron Foster was arrested last June following a disturbance at a home along 3rd Ave. in the city of Altoona.

Police say the woman stated that Foster "shoved her" and forced her into the bedroom of the home, where he proceeded to sexually assault her, following an altercation about a party that the two had attended.

Officials say on Friday, Foster appeared in Blair County court where he entered a guilty plea to charges of felony sexual assault and strangulation.

He was then sentenced to serve 2.5 to 5 years in prison, followed by three years of probation.

Authorities say he is also required to register as a lifetime sex offender.
