Arts Altoona to host art market showcasing local artists

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Arts Altoona will be hosting an art market on April 17th at the Arts Altoona Center, located at 2212 Sixth Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizers say the event was conceived as a way to showcase local artists, and to provide them a way to sell their creations.

Prices of the artworks range from 10 to $100.

The event has free admission and food will be available to purchase.

“It’s a little more unique than your typical vendor shows because it is all handmade artisan products. So, we’re hoping that will kind of show all of the amazing art that is being created right here in our community,” said Leah Klevan, director of community relations for Arts Altoona.

All proceeds of food purchases go to supporting the numerous art programs that the organization runs.
